A multi-patner agriculture value chain business venture leveraging innovation & digitization to help smallholder farmers in Africa become
bankable by improving their crop system perfomances

What We Do

Foodwings is a holistic approach based on agricultural inputs, digital tools and innovation, including drone technology. Aimed to lift farmers’ skills, increase their yields and generate enough profits to become bankable, disrupting the poverty chain and allowing farmers to invest in their family’s education and health.
Bayer has launched FoodWings as an agricultural, multi-partner business venture, currently piloted in Ghana before scaling it to other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The initial focus is on maize, a key staple crop severely affected by a new insect such as Fall Army Worm, with devasting impacts on yields and local communities.

How we do it

Foodwings addresses challenges faced by smallholder farmers, in four simple ways:
  1. High quality agricultural inputs (seeds,crop protection,fertilizers)
  2. Drone services for crop protection application
  3. Franchising model for empowering local entreprenuers
  4. Digital platform for seamless documentation
